On 1 July 2018, Haaland scored four goals in 21 minutes against Brann, leading to a 4–0 victory and drawing comparisons to Romelu Lukaku from Molde manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær. Erling Haaland made his debut for Manchester City in a 3-1 loss to Liverpool in the 2022 FA Community Shield.
